Lightening Can Blow Up Your Solar Gate Control Board Can You Stop It Happening

You Have a solar gate kit or an electric gate kit

The answer to this question is probably NO.  Did you know that Queensland has most of the lightening happening in Australia, due to the weather and higher humidity.  We get a lot of calls from solar and electric gate owners where the lights on the control board have all gone out and the board is dead.  We do get calls from other states but Queensland is many times more.  I live in Perth so lightening in Perth is rare.  

So can we do anything to stop it happening?  sorry no. You have an active fully alive gate control board at your gate waiting instructions from your remote, so it is very vulnerable at all times.  and open to electricity fluctuations during a storm or lightening and sorry you have to accept what happens, and by the way the control board is not covered under the gate warranty. But maybe your house insurance will cover it.. Cheers Graeme
