Gatehouse Universal Receivers Review From Happy Customer

Gatehouse Universal Receivers Review From Happy Customer
g'day Graeme, Gatehousesecurity happy new year!

After some research, the only universal receiver I found online that looks similar to yours is this - which says it uses ATA's Securate Code (this is PTX4, the older version of ATA's systems, still at 433MHz). But I wasn't sure that yours would support that, as it could just be the box that looks the same - the internals (and coding) could be different (for example, all the third-party remotes that look identical but support different systems). There are other "universal" like receivers, but they are simply switchable to different systems (via dip switches).

With that in mind I purchased various types of remotes and then tested them with your universal receiver (two receivers, so I'm confident of the results). A summary of the results are:
- The universal receiver works with: ATA PTX4 compatible remote (such as this); Smart Openers Smart Lifter remote.
- The universal receiver does not work with: ATA PTX5 remote, Merlin M842 compatible remote, B&D TB6 remote, Avanti/Centurion TX4 compatible remote, B&D CAD4 compatible remote.
So that's 2 out of 7 types that it works with. You might want to update the item description to list remotes it is compatible with.

I'm happy I have found remotes that work, and I've programmed them successfully. Both gates are working with the new receivers. My neighbours will be happy we can add new remotes to control both gates.
It wasn't entirely trivial; for one gate, which is based on an ATA GDO-6v3 opener, I eventually worked out that both black and white needed to go in the GND slot (there isn't a COM slot). Fortunately the electronics are pretty well hardened to any stupidity, so I didn't fry anything in the process 😁.

Thanks for the product and I hope this information is useful for you.
